Description
In this electric circuits activity, students answer questions to review and explain the transfer of electrical energy in electrical circuits.
This is a great way to get your students up and moving while explaining the transfer of electrical energy in electrical circuits!
✅ Download the preview and check out the sneak peek inside!
These are great for:
- reviewing gallery walk style
- reviewing using task cards
- using the digital option as a virtual review
- and more!
Teacher’s Guide:
- Print out the gallery walk posters or task cards and post them around the classroom (on the wall) or place them in stations around the classroom.
- Give students an answer sheet, and then review the directions with them.
- Students can walk around the room at their own pace or at a pace you create. Students will fill in their answers and explanations on their answer sheet.
- You can also choose the digital option.
The following lessons pair well with this activity:
A print and digital version is included!

What does this activity cover?
- the difference between open and closed circuits
- how electrical energy flows from a negative to a positive (anode (-), cathode (+))
- electrical components needed to complete circuits
- that circuits require a complete loop for a successful transfer of electrical energy
- how electric currents can be transformed into other forms of energy (light, sound, mechanical, etc.)
- series and parallel circuits
- electrical flow of energy from the negative terminal to the positive terminal
- batteries are stored energy and used to transfer energy in a circuit
This lesson pairs well with new NC Standard PS.6.2.5 as well as other state standards dealing with electrical circuits.
This is a great support activity for NGSS standard 4-PS3-4 and MS-PS3
