3. Rolling carts are a game changer in organization! Not only are they cute, but can be organized by each class’s assignments by the day along with other materials that are needed for classes. They can be maneuvered with ease throughout the classroom as needed.
4. The X-ACTO School Pro Classroom Electric Pencil Sharpener is QUIET (applause, please) and so durable. Middle school students aren’t exactly the most gentle creatures, so having a pencil sharpener that lasts isn’t as easy to come by. This pencil sharpener has lasted for YEARS and continues to work so well in my classroom!
5. Dry erase markers are one of those items that you figure out are needed only when all of them mysteriously disappear or dry out. Having an extra supply will save you the headache of hunting, borrowing, or begging other teachers for a marker. Plus, they come in pretty colors!

6. The Plugable USB 2.0 Digital Microscope with Flexible Arm Observation Stand (compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux) is probably one of the most unorthodox items to put on an Amazon must-have list, but if you are teaching middle school science, these are GOLD. Each year, you will have some break or “disappear.” This microscope also comes with a two-year warranty which may come in handy in a middle school science classroom.
7. Flexible seating can add so much versatility and comfort to your classroom! There are days when students just learn better sitting at a table, stool, or bean bag! You can create a safe, comfortable, and interactive environment by adding flexible seating!
8. Magnetic storage organizers are a simple, quick solution to storing dry erase markers, post-its, pens, and more on your dry erase board. They are sturdy, durable, and strong. Plus, you can get decorative ones to brighten up your dry erase board!
9. Twinkle lights are such a fun, soothing item to add to your classroom. They can be used as an indicator that students’ independent work has begun. Using twinkle lights is a fun, quiet, and quick classroom management strategy.
10. A wireless doorbell is a great classroom management technique and can decrease the time of getting students back on task. When things start to “get out of hand,” walk over to the doorbell and press the button. The sound indicates that it’s time for my class to quiet down. This is such a quick, easy method to appropriately manage your class!
I hope these Amazon must-haves help you as much as they have helped me! Remember, no matter the grade level or subject you teach, we (as teachers) must stick together! Which is your favorite gifts for science teachers?
