Description
I am so excited about this product! A little holiday meal planning may be in store for your students! Students are given a scenario to feed a certain amount of people, possibly with some limitations. They can choose items from a menu to meet their scenario but will have to use proportions to create the right recipe amount for the number of people they need to feed.
INCLUDED IN THIS ACTIVITY:
– Menu with 28 recipes to choose from
– 10 scenarios in which students will have to create their meal from
– Holiday Meal Planning Sheet
– Proportion Work Space
– Final Recipes Sheet
In this activity, students are given scenarios for planning a meal:
15 scenarios are given that give a variety in the number of people that they have to feed, limitations such as “no pork”, and limitations with the types of food they can cook.
A menu is included with a variety of appetizers, entrees, sides, desserts, and beverages. There are 28 recipes in all!
If students want more recipes, they can use online tools or any recipe they know from home (this is up to you!). Also, if you want more recipes added to the current menu in this resource, let me know, and I’ll be happy to add them!
Students will use the recipes and will have to create proportions in order to discover the amount of each ingredient that will be needed in order to feed the designated amount of people at the holiday party.
Students will need to use critical thinking skills and common sense as this is a real-life application. (You can’t just use half of a pre-made pie crust)
A work sample is included in the preview. ENJOY and please let me know if you have any questions!
