Description
This activity provides a real-life application to finding sales tax and total cost. In this activity, students will be creating their own sales paper either by drawing or by computer. If there is no time for students to create their own sales papers, they may bring some in from home!
Once the sales paper is complete, students will trade with a partner.
They will use their partners sales paper to go shopping!
They will create four shopping list! They will be given a scenario card for each list that will give them a budget and a sales tax rate.
*teacher instructions are included!
They will have to find the subtotal, sales tax, and total cost for each of their shopping list.
There are 4 sheets of scenarios. There are 16 scenarios in all. You may choose to give students the same scenarios, or you can mix it up!
