Description
This National Donut Day activity for science will be the perfect addition to your classroom for the end of the year! This holiday is on June 6, 2025, but if your school year ends before then, you can always celebrate National Donut Day 2025 a few days/weeks earlier! Everyday is a great day to celebrate donuts!!
In this activity, students will learn about National Donut Day, explore the difference between cake and yeast donuts, and determine what yeast is and what makes it a living organism!
Students will:
• Watch a video about national donut day and learn facts about this holiday.
• Learn the main differences between a cake and yeast donuts and then have a class vote on which one they like better and complete a short math activity.
• Explore what yeast is and the characteristics of living organisms by exploring how yeast, sugar, and water react together.
