Need something fun, engaging, and different to review theoretical and experimental probability? These task cards provide an engaging review that will allow students to get out of their seats and have fun learning! These task cards have a focus on key vocabulary for theoretical and experimental probability and help students practice skills with this topic.
Task Cards will cover the following:
♥ key vocabulary: relative frequency, experimental probability, and theoretical probability
♥ predicting probabilities
♥ fair experiments
♥ finding theoretical and experimental probabilities
♥ comparing theoretical and experimental probabilities
♥ and more!
**Things to know about these task cards:
-
#1-8: consists of 8 questions dealing with the topic
-
#9-16: Students will need the frequency table provided with the task cards. You could choose to post the table near the task cards or copy the table on the back of the students’ answer sheets.
-
#17-24: Students will need colored pieces in a bag provided by the teacher. The teacher will need to create little baggies (confetti-like pieces, square pieces, up to you!) with 13 pieces of blue paper, 12 pieces of yellow paper, 15 pieces of red paper, 17 pieces of purple paper, 9 pieces of green paper, and 9 pieces of orange paper.
-
Tips for creating baggies: use a paper cutter and recruit student help! If you don’t have enough materials or time to create several baggies for students, just create one an collect data as a class before you begin the task cards
-
In a pinch? No time at all to create baggies? Make up some “experimental” data!
These task cards are great for RTI, Common Core Review, Regular Class Review, Test Prep, Engagement, “I’m Finished” stations, Math Centers, and More!
