Description
In this renewable and nonrenewable energy resources activity, students will “construct an explanation to classify the primary sources of energy as either renewable (Geothermal, Biomass, Solar, Wind, Hydroelectric) or nonrenewable (Coal, Petroleum, Natural Gas, Nuclear).”
Students will sort “energy sources cards” into either renewable or nonrenewable categories. Then, students will explain why they classified them this way.

Natural resources are substances from the Earth that are useful. Renewable energy resources can be replenished easily, and nonrenewable energy resources cannot be replenished in our lifetime.
Help students work through some of our primary sources of energy and determine whether they can be replenished easily or not!
*This activity is great as a pre assessment, review, science centers, test prep, and more!
