Description
This solving proportions game pack contains two different activities. The first activity is a matching game in which students will be solving proportions for x and have to find the other students with the correct answer. The second activity is another matching game in which students find a ratio (that another student has) that is equivalent to theirs and make a proportion.
There are a lot of solving proportions examples they can go through. There are 32 cards per game.
During these games, you can talk about different ways to solve proportions and even an EASY way to solve proportions.
In the first solving proportions game:
Half of the students in your class can receive a proportion card and the other half can receive the answers. Students will be asked to find their match to successfully solve the proportion.
Once they have found their match, students can write the problem and the answer on a sheet of paper for grading.
After this, the halves switch and the students that received the proportions get the answers and vice versa.
This process can be repeated and many times as desired!
In the second solving proportions game:
Each student receives a card. A blue card will always match with a green card. Students have to find a match that will make a proportion.
Once students have found a match, they can grab an “equals sign” and find a seat beside each other. Students may set the proportion down for the teacher to check.
Students can also record on paper for grading.
This may be repeated as many times as needed!
