Description
In this activity, students will play a game of 2 truths and 1 lie to learn more about organisms building materials in relation to food and energy. They will “construct an explanation to summarize how food provides the energy, and the building materials required for the growth and survival of all organisms (to include plants).”
This is a great summary activity and covers:
- heterotrophs vs. autotrophs
- role of nutrients in a healthy diet (macro and micro)
- why all organisms must use food as a source of energy and building materials
- photosynthesis and cellular respiration
- cellular respiration vs. digestion
- and more!

There are 10 problems for students to go through.
Here is an example:
#1: All organisms require a source of energy to survive.
#1: Organisms do not need fats to survive. They are more harmful than helpful.
#1: Autotrophs use photosynthesis to produce carbohydrates.
Can you figure out the lie?
A DIGITAL VERSION AND A PAPER VERSION (CUT AND GLUE) IS INCLUDED!
