  • This was a fun and engaging resource for my students. We booked a computer cart for two blocks and did the first half of the lesson. I did add in a couple of extra videos, to better explain certain topics (convection was one). I also did voice recordings on each slide, so that my students with reading difficulties could still participate independently. Many of them really appreciated this, and it was fairly easy to do (although a bit time consuming). We used the Powerpoint version and submitted via Microsoft Teams, as that is what's used in my district. The kids all said that they really appreciated learning this way! I'm planning to do the other half next week, with similar adaptations.

    Structure of the Earth Lesson

There is a mapping activity for plate boundaries and a written-model activity for Earth’s layers if you want students building and explaining rather than only reading. The interactive lessons come as Google Slides™ and PowerPoint with Cornell-style guided notes and answer keys, and teachers regularly add their own videos and voice recordings to the slides for students who need the support.
